How it works
From application to a counted hour
The same cycle for everyone, with different obligations depending on your role. Nothing is hidden: you can always see what is outstanding.
How it works
A clear path from application to connection
- 01
Apply
Tell us a little about yourself, what you care about, and what you hope to learn. Save your progress and return anytime.
- 02
Discover your direction
Complete a few short activities that help you name your strengths, interests, and goals before you meet your mentor.
- 03
Get matched
Our team reviews every match so you connect with a mentor who suits your goals and is ready to support you.
- 04
Meet and grow
Book sessions, keep the conversation going, and bring what you learn into your next decision, opportunity, or challenge.
If you are a mentee
- Apply through the form, saving as you go. You will get an email with a link to check your status.
- Once accepted, accept the terms and give the consents that apply. If you are under 18, your guardian signs.
- Work through the required lessons and write your reflections. The reflection coach can ask you deepening questions; it never grades you.
- Staff confirm your match. You will see who your mentor is and what you agreed to.
- Book sessions from your mentor's open slots and meet on the calendar link. Confirm what happened afterwards.
- Complete four sessions across the cycle, take part in events, and answer the short surveys.
If you are a mentor
- Apply or accept a nomination, then complete the background check and mentor lessons.
- Set your recurring weekly availability in your own time zone, plus any one-off blocks.
- Accept the match staff confirm for you, then meet your mentee in-platform.
- After each session, confirm attendance and the actual minutes. Add private notes and outcome tags.
- Your hours are recorded for you. You never fill in a timesheet.
If you are staff
- Open the cohort, configure the readiness checklist and the consents required for each participant type.
- Review applications against the rubric and record decisions.
- Work the matching workspace. The system blocks any match where either side is not ready, and tells you exactly which criteria are unmet.
- Watch the data quality queue and the safeguarding queue daily.
- Publish the impact dashboard and generate the evidence packet at the end of the reporting period.
What we ask of you
The commitment
Four sessions
Mentees and mentors commit to four one-to-one sessions across the cycle, plus the cohort events.
Confirm what happened
Both parties confirm each session. If the two confirmations disagree by more than five minutes, we take the lower figure and a person reviews it.
Keep it in-platform
Messaging, booking and files stay in menti so the record is complete and young people stay protected.
Tell us when it isn't working
Rematching is normal. Cancel with a reason, and staff will step in after two consecutive misses.
